Closed Campus Letter
Palmetto Elementary believes the safety of our students is paramount. As part of our continuing efforts to provide the utmost security, beginning Thursday, September 6th, our school will be implementing a “closed campus”. Having a closed campus increases the safety and security of our students. Therefore, Dade County School employees will be the only adults allowed to enter the campus from 7:00 am to 8:35 am. After 8:35 am, any visitors or volunteers will be able to access the campus through the Raptor system by showing a license or passport, located at our single-point main entry on SW 74th Avenue.
We will have security, staff, and safety patrol supervising students throughout the school to ensure safety. Please see below for detailed instructions for revised arrival procedures
